Menuhin
Hall Cobham, Surrey
Performed
with The Candlelight Opera in
The Concert Hall
The Menuhin Hall
was opened by HRH The Duke of Gloucester KCVO CB in January 2006. It is
situated within the grounds of the Yehudi Menuhin School close to the
oak tree which Yehudi Menuhin planted in 1996 to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Following Yehudi Menuhin’s death in 1999, the School decided to
create a permanent memorial to celebrate the life and work of one of the
great musicians, educators and thinkers of the Twentieth Century. The
generosity of a great many donors, trusts, foundations and sponsors have
made possible the creation of a very special performance space. It is
intimate and yet spacious; it is luxurious and yet cost effective; it
is acoustically outstanding, clear and supportive.
